I am way behind so look out!!! Oh yeah, here is today's lunch!!

Alright, I have got some serious new reipes to get up here, so I am behind.  Here is today's lunch to hold everyone over until tonight.
Today we have broccoli with a pat of butter and a little salt, my Indian lentil and red bean recipe (will post this later), the familiar sprout sandwich with refried black beans, hummus and cheese on brown rice bread, and a half a handful of nuts with dried cherries!  By the way everyone, I am reading a book called Good Calories, Bad Calories by Gary Taubes.  This is a must read if you want to be extremely enlightened as to how research on the human diet is done in the United States, and it will open your eyes to what didn't make it in to the reports that we have heard for the last 100 years.  I'm telling you, this book is the ultiimate book if you want to get to the bottom of many questions about our food.  I am not done yet, but it has got me hooked.  I would encourage everyone to read this one.  OK, I promise to get my latest posted asap.  Enjoy!!

  1. I'll be interested in your reaction to Taubes. That book changed my life and, in domino effect, the life of a few relatives because I figured out I had celiac disease, then confirmed it by dx, then they did. If you keep eating beans and peas after finishing the book, you might like to take a look at Nourishing Traditions, esp for info on soaking beans in traditional ways to break down the phytic acid, etc...
Which bento box is that and can it be found for purchase online?

  2. It's hard to even think about eating carbs in general after reading the book. Right now my reaction is disappointment in everything that research is supposed to stand for...I will definitely take a look at Nourishing Traditions. It seems that traditional methods and diets are correct for every aspect of health. Check out www.laptoplunches.com Thanks for checking me out.

  3. Thanks for the link! I've been spreading your link around because I think you eat a good way for people who can tolerate the beans and such. I really like them and I hope that after some time my system will be able to handle them a bit more often.
Are you familiar with Stephen Guyenet's blog? While he's very into the meat and fats, you might find some info there too. http://wholehealthsource.blogspot.com/
